Students in our Key Stage 1 Pathway have made the transition from the Early Years into KS1 and are now being assessed on the Sandgate Steps. A lot of their learning will take place through continuous provision and purposeful play.

Students are working within their Personal Progression Pathways through Individual Education Plans and via themed work which is at the centre of their curriculum.

Life skills including the very important safety skills are also focused on throughout our curriculum. This includes shopping trips, food technology, road safety, dressing and other care skills. Our aim is to help the children become much more independent within all areas.

The children will also be supported to develop their communication and interpersonal skills alongside their problem solving. In Wetherlam we like to make the learning fun ensuring that the children enjoy themselves and love coming to school!
