Sandgate is a special school for children and young people between the ages of 3-19 years.
We are a split site school and currently have a £6.5m new build in progress on our upper school site. We
take pride in fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment for students with severe learning

Teaching Assistant
- The closing date for applications is 9am on Thursday 12th December 2024. Candidates who have been shortlisted for interview will be informed by the end of the week.
- Interviews will take place the week beginning 16th December 2024.

- This is a Fixed Term position until July 2025 due to school funding (however, as Sandgate is in a continued period of expansion, employment contracts will be extended following a successful probation period and role specification objectives being met successfully).
Relief Teaching Assistant
PCD7: £27,711 pro rata for term time working/ad-hoc hours (hourly rate £14.36 inclusive of holiday pay)
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and flexible classroom practitioners to join our bank of relief staff in our growing school team.
Our relief staff work on an ad-hoc basis when our permanent staff require cover. Sometimes requests are in advance but often work is at short notice to cover absence. Whilst flexibility is the key, we do understand that our relief team may have prior engagements – we respect this and always work in a mutually conducive way.

Midday Supervisor
Midday Supervisor Vacancies
PCD3A £24.027 (inclusive of 30 JWC) per annum, pro rata (hourly rate £12.45)
(This role is term-time only and paid pro rata – approximately 7.5 hours working per week but can be discussed at interview).

Cleaning Operatives
Salary OP1 Grade 1 £18,333 inclusive of living wage supplement (pro rata) – new, increased pay scales yet to be applied
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic self-starters to join our friendly, supportive and motivated cleaning team. Ideally, the candidates will have previous cleaning experience, however training is available and mentoring in the team is ongoing. This is a team that collaborates very successfully, in large part due to an experienced, present and supportive line manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience preferred but training and mentoring will be given
- Reliable and hardworking, with a keen eye for detail
- Able to undertake all cleaning duties with a professional attitude and an awareness that there may be students on site
- Flexibility to work across either school sites and during the school holidays
- The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Relevant DBS and Barred List checks as well as references will be required for this post.
Working schedule is usually:
- Monday to Friday
- 3.30pm-6pm
- 12.5 hours per week (occasional overtime hours may be necessary at times)
- This is a year round role as the team do clean the site during school holidays
